White Barn Farm Market

Moorefield, West Virginia may not be a hub of tourist attractions, but it does have one deliciously adorable corner that caught my attention.
The White Barn Farm Market not only sells farm-fresh produce and preserves...
...in a rennovated dairy farm barn...
...but Mary, the proprietor, has a flair for presenting her wares in a way that makes them even more irresistable!

I've never seen a Patty Pan Squash before...anyone have a recipe?

This is one place we'll be stopping by again soon!

The White Barn Farm is my kinda place! Lovely photos, Saretta. I love the way Mary displays her goods. Those in the 3rd photo look like fava beans! Mmmm, pecorino comes to mind.

Patty Pan squash... let's see...
Leave them whole or halve them lengthwise to enjoy their singular shape, add crookneck or other strange shaped squash, and slice some zucchini too.
Film a large saucepan with olive oil. Add chopped onions and celery and sauté for 3 minutes.
Add squash (& later zucchini), salt, pepper and 2 tbsp water. Cover and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and cook until tender, stirring frequently. Ta daa!
